(Re)Descobrindo a Baleia em Atouguia - Itinerário Cultural
Visita guiada e comentada ao Centro Interpretativo da Atouguia da Baleia e a outros locais de interesse, para visualização de alguns exemplares de ossos de baleia que aí se encontram a ser estudados, assim como para apresentação da futura exposição que aí se irá desenvolver. A futura exposição pretende compreender a relação entre o animal baleia e a localidade Atouguia. Como se cria esta relação, quando se iniciou, quais as materialidades que ainda hoje perduram? Estas serão algumas das questões que os investigadores do projeto ERC Synergy 4OCEANS, em conjunto com a Câmara Municipal de Peniche, vão tentar responder durante a visita.

Bones: A visit to the inside of a whale and the behind the scenes of an exhibition
Guided and commented visit to the Atouguia da Baleia Interpretive Centre, to view some specimens of whale bones that are being studied there, as well as to present the future exhibition that will be developed there. The future exhibition intends to understand the relationship between the whale animal and the locality Atouguia. How was this relationship created, when did it start, what are the materialities that still persist today? These are some of the questions that the researchers of the ERC Synergy 4OCEANS project, together with Peniche City Hall, will try to answer during the visit.

III International Meeting Histories of Nature and Environments: More Than Just Biodiversity
Following the previous meetings and the discussion on the interaction between humans and the natural world and on landscape as a historical testimony and source for the study of the past, this third reunion aims to focus on the plurality of ecosystems and species, and the richness of the natural world, while addressing cultural and social diversities in their multiple entanglements with nature.
Ecocultural systems, or integrated ‘natureculture’ views, will be the main object of our discussions, considering that different species, both human and non-human, and their interrelationships, can be placed at the centre of the debate and be discussed as agents in historical and current narratives.
Grounded in the humanities for the environment, this is an inter- and multidisciplinary event that seeks to reach out to different scholars, academics, scientists, and stakeholders, and to involve various disciplinary approaches. The aim of this meeting is to promote a fruitful multidisciplinary exchange and an active debate on these issues with the contribution of all participants.
