Descrição: Research activities in the BIOSKEL lab aim to better understand bone metabolism and skeletal development using fish models such as the zebrafish and the rice fish (medaka). Within the scope of these activities, we have developed several in vitro and in vivo systems that allow us to study the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying bone formation, mineralization and regeneration and originating skeletal deformities. Research in the BIOSKEL lab has applications in the field of human health but also farmed fish production.
