Trends in Science Education: a communication project
This project aimed at creating a space to share experiences and exchange ideas about the teaching and learning of Science in secondary education both in Portugal and in Oriental countries, using the Internet as a communication means. The project lasted for a month (May 99) and involved groups of students supported by teachers of Science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) in Macao and Portuguese schools. Part of the information and opinions exchanged among the participant groups was presented on a Conference in Macao on 17th and 18th June 99.
Interaction through email
The communication through email aimed at: (1) characterizing each of the participating schools ; (2) stimulating the exchange of information about different aspects related to the teaching and learning of science in both countries / schools; (3) stimulating the creation of products to be published on the project WWW page.
Interaction in Discussion Forums
Further exchange of ideas on science teaching and learning took place on Discussion Forums in which students and teachers took place.
