Capelinhos Volcano Interpretation Center - Ciência Viva Center

The Capelinhos Volcano Interpretation Center, on the Faial island, Azores, is the latest Ciência Viva Center (CVC). The 20 centers in the Network of Ciência Viva Centers, spread throughout the country, are now joined by what is the second Ciência Viva Center in the Azores archipelago. Located in a building integrated into the volcanic landscape of Faial Island, this CVC is informative, educational and scientific in nature. It features a series of exhibitions on the eruption of the Capelinhos Volcano, the formation of the Azores archipelago, the world´s most emblematic volcanoes, and the history of Azorean lighthouses.
