Opened in July 2017, the Open Science Platform (PCA) is the first center of the international Open Science Hub network, in partnership between the Municipality of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo and Leiden University (Netherlands). With the mission of bringing science, technology, and innovation closer to the daily lives of local and regional communities, PCA promotes academic performance and drives entrepreneurship and social innovation in the region through collaborations between schools, civil society, businesses, universities, and the general community. PCA joined the Science Centers Network on January 7th, 2021.
