Bruno Navarro
1977-2021
"Bruno, we will only know how to write these words as a note that we want to address you, to read it slowly, in that eternal time where you are entering now.
You were the great rebuilder of the Côa Valley, always fond of doing things, of taking in work that will stand for long in that magnificent place that holds millions of years of history. People were the most important thing for you, a demanding friend at work, always tolerant in friendship. You accepted the invitation to work at Ciência Viva with the joy of embracing new causes, but in the condition of having the time to keep your commitments; and the great Côa lived in you, in your dreams, in the admiration for the work of your colleagues.
Everyone counted for you.
You were in the board of Ciência Viva, formally elected in September, but you were one of us way before. Even last Friday, just before your passing, we were together at a board meeting; we distributed tasks, we laughed, we concluded that the crucial thing to do was sharing major decisions, and with your joy, you illuminated the future that now seems so difficult. We talked about how one of these days we would celebrate with a nice bottle of wine from your Douro.
The puppy Faia that you left in the Côa Museum, so beautiful and gentle for everyone, will be the guardian of your dreams; and Paco the cat, which you left in Lisbon, will accompany your children beyond time. We, in the Network of Ciência Viva Centres and in the Pavilion of Knowledge, will not forget that. We are grateful for your wisdom, your friendship, your joy. You were a good person and a great professional. You didn ’ t have the time to get to know the large Ecsite family as you were so eager to, with your enthusiasm for museums and science centres. Bruno Navarro, you are ours forever".
