The project Knowing the Ocean intends to stimulate the citizens involvement with the ocean.
The North-American initiative Ocean Literacy identified seven Main Principles about the Ocean and mapped them into the different learning levels of the school curriculum. Ciência Viva coordinated the adaptation of this initiative to Portugal.
